Screenshots for Front Cover Draft 2
In this screen grab it shows that I have took on what people said I should improve on my front cover in hot desking. To improve my front cover, I added another cover line as people said I should add another 1 because they felt like there was not enough filling the page up. They said to use different fonts so I used a different font on the cover lines and the pull quote from the main cover line. I also changed the colour of the masthead and also a few cover lines because people said they were quite hard to read so I changed them to make them more noticeable and readable.

Screenshots for DPS Draft 2
These screen grabs show how I have improved my double page spread by taking on the constructive criticism from Hot Desking. It shows that I have made a few changes such as a black rectangle behind the masthead of the dps, I have added who is the photographer for the chosen photograph and I have also changed the font for the answers on the flannel panel. This has improved my skills development by adding little things such as a black rectangle behind the the masthead so it would stand out.

Working On Double Page Spread on InDesign
These are screenshots of creating my Double Page Spread on InDesign. It shows how I used the columns by adding text into most of them. I also added the masthead in and made it white because it will stand out more because the background of the photograph is darker so using a lighter colour for the font meant the audience would find it more readable. The screenshots also show how I have added a flannel to the third column on the second page and to show that I used another photograph from the photo shoot so the flannel and the main photograph will go well together and the colour scheme will be similar.
Working On Contents Page on InDesign
These are the screenshots of my Contents Page being produced on InDesign. The photographs for the background of my contents page was edited on photoshop because I wanted the photograph to be lighter so it didn't mean there would be more attention on the background than the text and photographs on the contents page. I also wanted to add the magazine title on the contents page just to add good design which is goes really well the photo for the background. For the rest of the contents page, I edited it in InDesign. The screenshots show how I added the text into the 2 columns and how I have added 2 photographs to the contents page to represent articles in the magazine which it gives an insight to the audience about the article.

InDesign Testing For Contents Page and Double Page Spread
These screenshots shows the start process of creating my double page spread. It shows how I want my layout by adding the header, stand first and the text on the first page. It also shows the skills I have developed by showing how I added a photograph by pressing ctrl+D and how I arranged it and also putting the header in front of the photograph. I also have gain skills by learning how to add a drop cap so it will break up the text a little bit.

Clearing Skin On Photoshop
The first screen shot shows the artist I used before I used the Spot Healing Tool and the second screen shot shows the effect of the Spot Healing Tool.
Blurring Background In Photoshop
The first picture shows that I went around my artist by using the Lasso Tool and then pressed Modify and then clicked Feather.
The second screen shot shows that I right clicked the artist that I used the Lasso Tool and clicked Select Inverse which meant the background will change and not my artist.
Lastly after Inverting the image, I selected Filter and then Blur and then clicked Guassain Blur and changed the pixels to 6.

Editing With Photoshop #2
The first screenshot is another attempt of producing my magazine cover. This time I went for a basic look for the background so I the girl I used for my cover stands out more from the colours she is wearing.
I also added a red masthead because the colour of the red relates to the girl's scarf so it works together.
In the second screenshot, I added text and to the side bar to show what my heading are. I chose black and red as my text colour because then it goes with what the girl is wearing and the masthead.

Editing With Photoshop
To create my college magazine, I used Photoshop to edit the photograph that I took to use on the cover of my college magazine.
The first thing I did when I went onto Photoshop was opened the photograph that I wanted to use by pressing "Ctlr+O".
To get the right sized paper when opening Photoshop was by setting it to A4 because the magazine needs to be printed and fit on A4. I then set the paper to international paper.
I took screenshots of my first attempt at using Photoshop. The first time I used Photoshop, I played around with the tools and to just see what I can do and what Photoshop has.
The first screen shot shows how I changed how to change the hue and saturation of the photograph. This included changing the colour of the background and the the hue and saturation of the girl I took a Photograph. I managed to change it so they had different colours and filters on them by using the rubber tool so I could get rid of the areas I did not want to have filtered and coloured. The rubber tool can adjest in size by using "[ and ]" to make the rubber bigger or smaller.
The second screen shot shows how I changed the brightness of the hue and saturation. I did this by clicking the adjustments on the image section.
The third image shows how I cut out the girl I took a photograph of by clicking the third icon on the sidebar and going around her so I can move her or edit her.
The fourth screenshot links to the third one because I used the cut out of her by then putting in a different background that I found on the internet to just experience and play with using different background and how to do this. I put the background in by adding another layer into Photoshop and by holding shift I could resize the background photograph in proportion. By putting the layer below the first layer where the girl is, it means that the photograph will go behind the girl. I used the rubber icon which is on the sidebar to rub out any of the imperfectly cut outs or bits of the previous background.

All About Me
Hello,
My name is Holly and I am currently a College student studying Media Studies and this is my Foundation Portfolio in Media.
This portfolio will show all the work that I have done in Media.
I chose media as an A level option because I really love the way the media works. I feel like its really interesting and there's so many ways you can at the media. The media cna be seen as a very negative prospect as it does affect everyone in many ways. However, the media can be seen as an influence to some people to wanting to make a change in this society. I personally chose media because I like creative side towards the media work as I can send a message but in a creative way where people can understand the message that is being put across
