To create my college magazine, I used Photoshop to edit the photograph that I took to use on the cover of my college magazine.
The first thing I did when I went onto Photoshop was opened the photograph that I wanted to use by pressing "Ctlr+O".
To get the right sized paper when opening Photoshop was by setting it to A4 because the magazine needs to be printed and fit on A4. I then set the paper to international paper.
I took screenshots of my first attempt at using Photoshop. The first time I used Photoshop, I played around with the tools and to just see what I can do and what Photoshop has.
The first screen shot shows how I changed how to change the hue and saturation of the photograph. This included changing the colour of the background and the the hue and saturation of the girl I took a Photograph. I managed to change it so they had different colours and filters on them by using the rubber tool so I could get rid of the areas I did not want to have filtered and coloured. The rubber tool can adjest in size by using "[ and ]" to make the rubber bigger or smaller.
The second screen shot shows how I changed the brightness of the hue and saturation. I did this by clicking the adjustments on the image section.
The third image shows how I cut out the girl I took a photograph of by clicking the third icon on the sidebar and going around her so I can move her or edit her.
The fourth screenshot links to the third one because I used the cut out of her by then putting in a different background that I found on the internet to just experience and play with using different background and how to do this. I put the background in by adding another layer into Photoshop and by holding shift I could resize the background photograph in proportion. By putting the layer below the first layer where the girl is, it means that the photograph will go behind the girl. I used the rubber icon which is on the sidebar to rub out any of the imperfectly cut outs or bits of the previous background.

Researching Magazines
I decided to look at different kinds of magazines to get an idea of the layout and colour of the magazine.
The main thing I noticed with these magazines is that the masthead is the top third of the magazine. The font of the masthead is colourful and bold and it stands out.
The layout of both these magazines are very similar. The text of headings in both magazines are mainly on the left hand side on the cover. The colour of these headings are either the same or have similar tones of colour.
The photograph is placed in the centre of the cover which takes up the majority of the actual magazine and cover but also the text that is on the cover is placed in front of the image
When researching the layout of magazines, I noticed that the colours that are opposite each other the colour wheel go together eg. Yellow and purple. Also different tones of the same sort of colour also goes together but realistically the opposites of the colour wheel compliments each other and make the cover stand out.

Audience Profile
From my results, I created a audience profile on paper of what my target audience is for my College Magazine. I have included gender, likes, age, interests, lifestyle and education.
I also created a Audience Profile collage with all the logos and music stars from the written audience profile about the interests, likes and aimed at females aged 16-19.
This audience profile collage includes music, money, high street fashion, make-up and also entertainment and social networking sites.

College Magazine Questionnaire Results
This is my results from my Questionnaire. I asked 10 people around the college so I would not get a non-biased result. I used different types of graphs and charts so you can see the results from different perspectives and how different the answers are for each question.

Definition Of A Magazine
A magazine isn't the same thing a newspaper. It isn't the same thing as a book.
A magazine is a collection of information. It also includes images, different Genres with set interests. There are so many magazines in this world and I would guarantee that there would be at least one magazine for you that suits your interests.
Magazines are not just about gossip, airbrushed models and fashion. There are many magazines such as music magazines such as Kerrang and Q which are made for those music lovers.
Magazines cover such a wide range from the kids to the elderly. From the Cbeebies to the knitting magazine. People think Magazine are just made for the teenage girls and women but that isn't true. There are so many different genres such as sports like "Match" magazine and also gaming magazines such as "Xbox 360" magazine.
Magazines also change with the seasons. The colours of many magazines such as fashion in winter are mainly red, green and blue because it relates to the winter time and Christmas. Magazines especially fashion fashion magazines in spring and summer are pastel but vibrant colours such as pink, mint green and yellows. In autumn the colours in many magazines are orange, red, black and dark purple because it relates to the theme of Halloween.
Magazines have colourful, bold and eye catching photos with bold and enhancing colours. Magazines also have articles and stories in them to gather information and gossip.
Magazines can also be different sizes, the main sizes of a magazine is an A4 and also you get smaller sizes of A5 which is called a Berliner. The front page and very back page are made of glossy paper and also very high end adverts in the magazine would have thick or glossy paper where as just the pages inside the magazine are just ordinary paper.

Introductory Task
Hello Everyone, My introductory task is to pick a television advert of my choice, so I decided to pick the Evian advert.
The people who created this Evian advert is the agency who came up with the production of the advert like the ideas of having the adults and the "baby" self to promote the Evian drink. However, Evian itself would contribute to ideas of advert
The Evian advert has many creative techniques to attract my attention. The first creative technique that I noticed when I first watched this was the representation of the babies in the advert. I find this a creative technique because the way it was created was very effective and humorous and is different so it makes the audience remember it. Overall, it main technique that Evian have used in this advert is babies dancing and the music as they create an upbeat feeling and it attracts my attention because its unrealistic and you wouldn't normally see something like that so its seen as clever and funny.
Different people might understand this message differently to me because this advert is very modern day like so a lot of the adults and elderly people would understand this more because they don't feel as young as to what they want to be so they sort of relate to the advert because the babies is how they want to feel on the inside. However, children would think very different because they wouldn't understand the advert or may think different because they are already "living young" like those babies and are active and energetic so they wouldn't understand that the aim of this message is to show that this product is there to make you feel young and "live young"
The values, lifestyles and points of view are represented in different ways. The lifestyle is aimed at working class/middle class. I think this because the advert is set in a street. This is also because there are two different types of age groups because there are men and women who are adults but there appearance are different and there is also and elderly woman. This suggests that this advert is aimed at all lifestyles and all types of audience so it suggests this product which in this case, its Evian water so it shows that its good for all types of people.
The message of this advert is that Evian water is suppose to make you live young like the slogan of the company says "Evian, Live Young". This message has been sent because the company is trying to show the audience which is aimed at all ages but mostly adults and the elderly that when they drink their water, they will fill younger afterwards. This is why they have used the babies dancing when they look in their reflection because it symbolises the idea of the drink making you feel younger. Evian sent this message because it shows you how you can feel on the inside and just how it makes you feel all round when drinking the water. The advert has been sent the way it has because it persuades you to wanting to buy the product so you can feel young again.

The media cna be seen as a very negative prospect as it does affect everyone in many ways. However, the media can be seen as an influence to some people to wanting to make a change in this society. I personally chose media because I like creative side towards the media work as I can send a message but in a creative way where people can understand the message that is being put across
